Chief Financial Officer

The CFO keeps TYE financially healthy and transparent: building realistic budgets, tracking income and expenses, and helping leadership make informed decisions. This is a high-trust leadership role for someone who enjoys numbers, clear documentation, and supporting a mission-driven team.

What You Might Own

  • Budgeting: Work with program leads to forecast costs and align spending with priorities
  • Reporting: Maintain clear records and summaries leadership can use for grants and partners
  • Controls: Help define simple processes for approvals, reimbursements, and documentation
  • Collaboration: Partner with the team on fundraising targets and financial storytelling

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort learning nonprofit finance basics if you are still building experience

Chief Strategy Officer

The CSO helps TYE grow with intention: clarifying priorities, strengthening partnerships, and aligning programs with our mission. If you like big-picture planning, stakeholder communication, and turning ideas into actionable plans, this role is built for you.

  • Partnerships: Support relationship strategy with schools, hosts, and community organizations
  • Alignment: Facilitate cross-team clarity on priorities, capacity, and tradeoffs
  • Story & impact: Help shape how we describe outcomes to partners and supporters

Outreach coordinators connecting with students and families

Become an Outreach Coordinator

Outreach coordinators help TYE grow thoughtfully: they build relationships with schools and community partners, share clear information about our programs, and make sure families know how to get involved. This role is ideal if you enjoy representing an organization in public settings and keeping communication organized.

What Outreach Coordinators Do

  • Community presence: Represent TYE at fairs, info sessions, and partner meetings with a welcoming, professional tone
  • Relationship building: Follow up with educators, hosts, and families to schedule workshops and answer common questions
  • Clear communication: Share program details, expectations, and next steps so partners feel supported
  • Logistics support: Help coordinate outreach materials, simple event setup, and RSVP or sign-in flows when needed
  • Feedback loop: Relay community questions back to the team so we can improve access and clarity

Time Commitment

  • One-time tabling or info events (typically 2–4 hours)
  • Ongoing outreach blocks (often 2–4 hours per week during busy seasons)
  • Flexible scheduling based on your availability and upcoming program dates

Requirements

  • Age 16+ (minors may participate with parent/guardian approval where applicable)
  • Comfort speaking with adults (educators, caregivers, and partner staff) in community settings
  • Reliable email communication and timely follow-up
  • Orientation provided; additional training for recurring outreach roles
STEM materials and workshop setup for instructors

STEM Instructor Program

Are you a high school or college student passionate about STEM? Join our STEM Instructor program and lead workshops that inspire younger students while developing leadership skills.

What Mentors Do

  • Lead small group activities and projects
  • Provide one-on-one guidance and support
  • Serve as role models and encourage curiosity
  • Help create a welcoming, supportive learning environment
  • Participate in mentor training and team meetings

Mentor Requirements

  • Age 14+ (high school students welcome)
  • Interest or background in STEM subjects
  • Good communication skills and patience
  • Reliable and committed to scheduled sessions
  • Complete mentor training program (provided free)
  • Minimum 3-month commitment preferred

Volunteer with TYE

Volunteers keep our programs welcoming and well-run. From setup and check-in to behind-the-scenes coordination, you can contribute in ways that match your skills and schedule—while supporting free STEM access for students.

Ways to Help

  • Materials: Help prepare kits, supplies, and simple classroom setups
